World Mental Health Day 2023 - Tudor May

Today, October 10th, we recognise World Mental Health Day. This year’s theme is particularly poignant: ‘Mental health is a universal human right.’ It serves as a powerful reminder that mental well-being is not a privilege, but a fundamental right that everyone deserves, regardless of who they are or what they do.

In the construction industry, where the physical demands are often front and centre, it’s crucial to remember that mental health is just as important. The pressures and challenges in this line of work can be intense, and it’s essential that we create an environment where mental health is prioritized, stigma is eradicated, and support is readily available.

On this day, let’s make a commitment to change the narrative around mental health in construction. Let’s normalize discussions about mental health, foster a culture of openness, and ensure that everyone in our industry knows it’s okay to ask for help when they need it.

Remember, your mental health matters. Not just today on #WorldMentalHealthDay, but every single day. Because mental health IS a universal human right.
