Employee Spotlight: Joe Adams, Operations Director

Joe joined the construction industry in 2005, and with construction running in the family, it was a natural path. His father was an electrician, one brother a bricklayer, and another a carpenter. At 17, Joe entered the industry as a labourer in the drylining sector. An experience that gave him a practical foundation for his future roles.

Today, Joe describes his role as fast-paced and driven, involving a lot of planning and problem solving. No two days are the same; one day he might be supporting labourers and managing site logistics, the next he’s presenting production reports in board meetings.

“You’re never too important or senior to support any part of what makes the business tick.”

When asked what he enjoys most about working at Tudor May, Joe says it is the people, both the internal team and our clients. He finds real satisfaction in supporting his team and projects and seeing them succeed.

Joe is particularly proud of being part of the company’s rapid growth and seeing both long-standing and new members of the team flourish and contribute to that success.
He credits experience for helping him stay calm under pressure, noting that “panicking never solved any problem.”

What keeps him motivated each day is simple: success in himself, his team and the wider business.
Outside of work, Joe enjoys spending time with family, keeping active, and staying busy with plans and occasions.

Joe sums up his approach perfectly:
“Companies don’t build projects, people do.”
